The San Dimas Canyon Nature Center Associates are a chapter of the Nature Center Associates of Los Angeles County, a volunteer nonprofit corporation. Our primary mission is to develop an awareness and appreciation of the natural world in children and adults.
The Nature Center Associates, through its chapters, creates and operates interpretive programs at nature centers of natural areas that are administered by the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation.
The San Dimas Canyon Nature Center Associates raise funds for animal food, medical requirements and habitats for the animals that reside at the Nature Center. Asssociates, volunteers and County staff can also conduct school tours, bird walks and outreaches, depending on personnel availability.
The annual San Dimas Canyon Nature Center Fund Raiser for this year will be the 2014 San Dimas Ho’olaule’a. Come join us June 7th and 8th for this exciting event! The event combines Native Hawaiian music and dancing, interactive crafts for kids, and animal and nature-related outreach booths. Funds raised benefit the animals, the Nature Center, and its programs. Click here for more information.
